The Purpose – The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole person through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand the concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The Woods United Methodist Women meets the third Thursday of month. Please check calendar for updates. The Woods United Methodist Women sub-groups meet as follows:
Altar Guild – Grace Norris, Chairperson – This group is a working arm of the Worship Committee of the Church. Altar Guild is entrusted with the privilege of preparing the chancel and it’s furnishings for corporate worship. Special interest are Communion, flowers, banners, and acolytes.

Seekers Study Group – Jane Lamb, Chairperson – Seekers is a group of Christian women who share a Response moment and a program on a monthly basis. Their special projects are supporting Bethlehem Center and other outreach programs.

Needles and Pins – Marty Staten, Chairperson – Needles and Pins are a group that promotes Christian harmony and fellowship through projects that include making receiving blankets, pressure pillows, gowns, and stuffed toy for medical centers. They provide stuffed toys for local police and fire departments. They also make lap robes for the VA hospital and nursing homes. Quilts for Brighter Tomorrow. See some of our quilt below.

Mary Martha Circle – June Fulton and Betty Nelle, Co-Chairpersons – Mary Martha Circle gather for fellowship, share a devotional time, and a reading from the Response Magazine. We pray for Missionaries serving around the world. We discuss the many ways we can and will do work in the local church and in the world. All women are welcome to come and join us.
Meeting time: Second Monday of each month, 10:00 a.m. in the kitchen of Campbell Hall
